L will review every aspect of the funding process for student organizations. We will improve the process to make it easier, and to ensure that student organizations are funded in a fair manner.
Ensure that student organizations with the most need for funds receive them first.
Add space in the online funding request system to allow requesters to provide additional information with their funding requests for special projects that might fall out of the normal expected categories of funding requests.
Evaluate the amounts allocated to each student organization, and ensure that student organizations with the best needs get the maximum amount of funding.
Go through the budget's of UISG line by line, increasing funding for things that work, and improving things that do not.
Saving Money
L will look into several ideas to save money, working to a point that more money can be allocated to student organizations that need them.
Encourage more showings of modern, popular movies at the Bijou theater. We can use ticket sales and revenue earned from these movies to subsidize more showings of independent, foreign, and classic films so that we can spend less to subsidize the theater and have more resources for student organizations and other student activities. -or-
Consider rebuilding the Campus Theaters in the Old Capitol Mall, so that students have a nearby place to watch popular, new movies. We can still use ticket sales and revenue earned from these movies to subsidize more showings of independent, foreign, and classic films at the Bijou so that we can spend less to subsidize the theater and have more resources for student organizations and other student activities.
Use technology to improve efficiency, saving wasted paperwork and time, and cutting costs on ink and paper.
